IQ4K  (Quality Rating System)

The Iowa Quality for Kids Rating System (IQ4K) is a voluntary initiative supported by Early Childhood Iowa and the Department of Education. IQ4K Programs that participate in Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS) show dedication to improving the quality of early care and education they provide.

 

A Program that participates in IQ4K uses enhanced best practices in health, safety and nutrition. Implements individualized developmental screening, lesson planning and the Iowa Early Learning Standards. Includes higher standards for Program Administrators and all teaching staff to support and increase quality programming. Researched-based training is mandated across all levels of IQ4K to assist providers in educating and supporting all children in their programs.
